Elsa Neumetzger

ELSA (Babette) NEUMETZGER was the daughter of JULIUS and SUSANNE NEUMETZGER.
She was born on June 20, 1920 in Freiburg.
From 1935 to 1936 she completed an apprenticeship in Lörrach.
Before and after she lived at Bertoldstrasse 52 (today 54) on the second floor.
Her parents fled to the Netherlands, her mother’s country of birth, in 1934.
On May 1, 1936 she followed them to Amsterdam.
Although her name cannot be found in the so-called Klarsfeld lists, it does appear in other Klarsfeld documents.
It is noted that she was arrested and deported in 1940 – probably to the Westerbork concentration camp – and from there to the Auschwitz concentration camp.
She was murdered there at the age of 25.
