Julie Regine Stern geb. Darnbacher

JULIE REGINE STERN/ also REGINA STERN was born on June 7, 1875 in Karlsruhe. Her maiden name was Julie Darnbacher. From 1910 she lived in Freiburg with her husband, the merchant HARRY STERN. The couple had two sons: Kurt (*1 August 1901) and Paul (*2 April 1903). They also lived in Erwinstraße and until 1922 in Schwimmbadstraße. From April 1922 until November 1939 the family was registered on the second floor of Basler Strasse 19 (from 1936 Wilhelm-Gustloff-Strasse).

On 7 March 1939 HARRY STERN had to hand over his property, shortly afterwards JULIE REGINE STERN and her husband HARRY fled to Amsterdam. There they were discovered and arrested. From the Westerbork concentration camp, JULIE REGINE STERN and her husband were deported to the Sobibor concentration camp on April 13, 1943, where she was murdered on April 16, 1943 at the age of 68.
