Julius Elsner
JULIUS ELSNER was born on October 29, 1879 in Freiburg.
The later chemist and research assistant lived
at Rheinstrasse 45, today’s Eckerstrasse 1, until April 1939,
where a STOLPERSTEIN was laid for him
. He then had to go to what was then Adolf-Hitler-Straße 149,
from where he was deported to the Gurs camp on October 22, 1940.
Just five months later, on March 22, 1941, JULIUS ELSNER died
there under the inhumane living conditions at the age of 61.
